Silambarasan's Maanaadu insured for Rs 30 crore

Even as there are discussions over ensuring the safety of the cast and crew in shooting spots following the unfortunate accident that led to loss of lives at the Indian 2 set, we hear the producer of Silambarasan TR's Maanaadu, has insured taken insurance for his team.

The film, directed by Venkat Prabhu, went on floors last week. And its producer Suresh Kamatchi says that he had taken insurance for his cast and crew even before the Indian 2 incident. "It is a common practice when it comes to big-budget films," says the producer.

Revealing the details about the insurance, he says, "We have insured the cast and crew for approximately Rs 30 crore. The premium comes to Rs 7.8 lakhs, including GST." He adds that the insurance will cover any member who works on the film during its production.
