Mr. S.K.Mehra is Managing director & CEO of Health Insurance TPA Of India. Health Insurance TPA of India is a joint venture of public sector General insurance companies. He joined Oriental Insurance Company in 1984 as direct officer. He has been working in insurance sector for the last 36 years in various capacities like Branch Manager, Divisional Manager, Regional Manager, He handled different fields of insurance in various capacities during these years in Oriental Insurance Company. The portfolios handled by him include Marketing, Underwriting, Health and Miscellaneous Insurance in addition to Customer Service, which has been his favourite subject of teaching. He also worked as insurance faculty and chief administrator in National insurance academy Pune which is prime insurance training institute in India, for a period of three years. And from 2015-16, He worked in the capacity of Dy. General Manager in Health Insurance TPA of India and contributed in software expansion and development of the company. And since 2016, continuing as Managing Director & CEO.

I started my career in The Oriental Insurance Company ltd. On 1st August 1984.

I started my career as Assistant Administrative Officer in The Oriental Insurance Company ltd
What were your stepping stones in career?
In lower management and middle management, I worked in The Oriental Insurance Company. Major change came when I was promoted as Dy. General Manager and posted in National insurance academy, Pune. A new phase of learning and teaching started. Another phase started when I was transferred to Health Insurance TPA of India and was promoted as General Manager and posted as Managing Director and CEO of Health Insurance TPA of India. It was a new challenge of working in a private set up after working for 31 years in PSU. Taking forward a start-up company to the established one.
Who influenced you the most in your career and why?
Ex-Chairman of The Oriental insurance Sh. S.L.Mohan and Sh. Sushoban Sarkar Ex Director NIA Pune. their simplicity and clear guidance to empower the juniors.
Your first day at work?
After completion of training my first day at work was full of enthusiasm and anxiety of practicing insurance.
When you wanted to quit?
No, I never thought of quitting. There were times of introspection when ignored.
Why you choose Insurance?
The insurance became my career by chance. But once I joined, it became so interesting that I continued.

My father.
