Singapore:Insurance support for businesses returning to workplaces

With countries and territories beginning to emerge from lockdowns, businesses are now looking at establishing risk mitigation plans to protect workforces when they return to the workplace.

In view of this requirement, Chubb has announced the launch of a group insurance plan for businesses in Singapore called ‘Recover & Return Insurance’ which is designed specifically for employers to take care of the health, safety and wellbeing of their employees.

"We recognise the need to enhance the confidence of companies and their employees as they return to their traditional workplaces,” said Chubb Asia Pacific deputy head of accident and health Ben Howell.

The plan includes lump sum pay-outs upon diagnosis of COVID-19 for the following:

• Admission to hospital
• Admission to the intensive care unit
• Family bereavement in the event of the demise of an insured employee
• Counselling for employees should a colleague working nearby be diagnosed with COVID-19
• Workplace disinfection

According to Mr Howell, the plan complements Chubb’s ‘Work from Home Insurance’ which was launched recently.

He noted that both insurance products address the concerns of employers in providing sustained care for their employees during the current pandemic whether working from home or their traditional workplace.
