7.5-magnitude quake could cause $16 billion damage

Two reports by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality said that a 7.5-magnitude earthquake could cause 120 billion Turkish lira ($16.3 billion) worth of damage in the capital city, Middle East Insurance Review reports.

The quake could damage 57% or 500,000 buildings in Istanbul, totaling TRY 68 billion.
