Suriya's donation to get life insurance for 1,300 producers
It looks like actor Suriya’s donation of Rs 30 lakh to the Tamil Producers’ Council has come in handy to get them life insurance. Suriya had donated a sum of Rs 1.5 crore to FEFSI and other film bodies after he decided to release his upcoming film with Sudha Kongara, Soorarai Pottru on OTT. He had donated Rs 1 crore to FEFSI, Rs 30 lakh to Tamil Film Producers’ Council and Rs 20 lakh to Nadigar Sangam.
Now, the Rs 30 lakh is all set to help over 1,300 members of the Producers’ Council to get life insurance. The amount was donated to the Justice Jaichandren by Kalaippuli Thanu, Keyaar, K Muralidharan and KJR Rajesh.
Thanu said that a petition was filed at the Madras High Court to provide life insurance to the members of Tamil Film Producers’ Council. The bench that took up the case, stated that arrangements be made to pay the premium for these insurances.
Since the Council didn’t have enough financial reserves, the donation made by Suriya had come in handy. At least 1,300 members have been benefitted by Suriya’s donation. The Justice thanked Suriya for the donation.
