Full justice will be ensured to ever farmer from crop insurance companies

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that full justice will be provided to every farmer from crop insurance companies. The government will put the cases of those farmers of the state, who have not received crop insurance claim or have received less amount before the insurance companies strongly, and if need arises, the issue will also be discussed with the Government of India. The entire claim amount of the insured crop of each farmer will be provided to them. Along with this, relief money will also be provided to each flood victim at the earliest.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that there has been good rain this time. Hence farmers can sow their crops early. In such a situation, timely availability of adequate quantity of urea will be ensured to them. He met and urged Union Minister for Fertilizers Shri Sadanand Gowda and Agriculture Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar in this regard. Therefore, adequate quantity of urea will be made available to the state.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was taking a high-level meeting in Mantralaya today in connection with the claim amount received by the farmers of the state from insurance companies. Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains Agriculture Production Commissioner Shri K.K. Singh, Principal Secretary Agriculture Shri Ajit Kesari etc. were present in the meeting.

Get list from collectors

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that there have been complaints from many districts that some farmers have either not received the claim amount or it is quite less in proportion to the loss caused to them. In this case, the matter must be re-examined in each district and lists must be obtained through the collectors based on which, insurance claim must be submitted again to the concerned insurance company. Every farmer should get justice.

22 lakh metric tonne urea must be allocated

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that he had called on Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shri D.V. Sadanand Gowda in New Delhi recently and urged him to increase allocation of urea for Madhya Pradesh from 18 lakh metric tonne (one lakh metric tonne reserve) to 22 lakh metric tonne. Due to adequate rains in the state in Rabi 2020-21, the area of ​​wheat is expected to increase by 10 lakh hectare compared to last year.

Payment of insurance claim amount

Principal Secretary Shri Ajit Kesari said that in Kharif 2018, payment of Rs 1987 crore 27 lakh was made to a total of 8 lakh 94 thousand 919 farmers were. In Rabi 2018-19, the claim amount of Rs 710 crore was paid by the insurance companies. In Kharif 2019, a total of 22 lakh 49 thousand 760 farmers were to be paid a claim amount of Rs 4 thousand 688 crore, out of which payment of insurance claim amount of Rs 2628 crore has been made to 14 lakh 40 thousand farmers till October 1st .

Total 45 lakh 16 thousand farmers insured in Kharif 2020

In Kharif 2020, a total of 45 lakh 16 thousand farmers of the state were insured till October 1st, out of which 38 lakh 67 thousand are debtors while 06 lakh 49 thousand are indebted farmers. In Kharif 2019, 37 lakh farmers were insured.

Farmers should not sow Tivda mixed gram

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed the Agriculture Department to urge farmers not to sow Tivda mixed gram in Rabi. It is difficult to buy Tivda mixed gram at support price.
