Allianz announces 58 sen dividend

KUALA LUMPUR: Insurer Allianz Malaysia Bhd surprised its shareholders with a single-tier interim dividend of 58 sen per share for the financial year ending Dec 31,2020.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, it said the board of directors also declared a single-tier interim dividend of 69.6 sen per irredeemable convertible preference share.

Allianz said the entitlement and payment dates of the dividends would be announced at a later date. It did not declare any dividend in the third quarter ended Sept 30,2020.

The group posted lower net profit of RM129.06mil compared with RM142.81mil a year ago. For the nine months, its net profit was higher at RM376.29mil compared with RM359.39mil in the previous corresponding period.
