General insurers can issue e-policy

Hyderabad: A day after IRDAI allowed life insurers to issue e-policies and accept digital signatures till September 2021, the insurance regulator has issued a new circular extending the same norms to general as well as standalone health insurance companies. “…insurers are allowed to issue electronic policies and dispense with physical documents and wet signature on the proposal forms as specified in the within referred guidelines up to September 30, 2021,” the latest circular said.
