India suffers $14 billion loss from Cyclone Amphan

A report by United Nations’ specialized body World Meteorological Association said that Cyclone Amphan, which made landfall in India in May 2020, caused $14 billion worth of losses, The Swaddle reported. Amphan, dubbed as the costliest tropical cyclone of the North Indian Ocean, affected Indian states of West Bengal and Odisha, and damaged more than 2.8 million homes.
