Corona impact on insurance

The role of health insurance has become very important in the Corona era. Applicants are constantly claiming insurance to reduce treatment costs. According to a report by the General Insurance Council, as of May 14 this year, an estimated 1.5 million applicants have applied for the claim. Out of which 12.35 lakh customers have been applied for claims.

According to the report, various health insurance companies have paid around Rs 22,955 crore to settle these claims, which is enough in itself. According to the data, 14.82 lakh consumers have applied for health insurance during the Corona period. General insurance companies have paid more than half the amount. Currently, the cost of health insurance is Rs. 2.5 lakh customers have to pay 11,161 crores.

The people of this state applied the most

Maharashtra had the highest number of people applying for health insurance claims during the Corona period. According to the council report, Maharashtra has the highest number of 5.35 lakh people claiming Rs 6,900 crore in health insurance. After this comes the number of states like Gujarat, Karnataka, Delhi.

Easy to take cashless claim

Like other diseases, IRDAI has also issued new guidelines for corona epidemic to make corona epidemic claims cashless. It also said that the insurance company said to complete the process of 2-hour intervals to get the payment as soon as possible. IRDA has made this change for the convenience of the people as well as to complete the claim as soon as possible.
